Brief Description: Flight #8, Flt test #5, Climbs and Descents, 1:12
Have noticed a slight right wing "heavy" so trimmed the right aileron down 1/2 turn. Didn't help much, so more trimming is required.
Climbed to 2000 msl and did full power climbs at 80, 75 and 70mph. Avg DA for the climbs was 3500'. CHT on #1 was pushing 400f most times. I'm thinking I may need to increase the cowling outlet area and add some more "Gurney" flap to the lip to improve cooling air flow.
Results were: IAS(mph) ROC(fpm) 70 688 75 525 80 433 This gives me a good indication of were to target the flights for Vx, Vy data since the peak is somewhere less than 70mph.
Fuel consumption for the 1:12 (tach time) flight was about 5 gallons. TGW 863#.
